To wrap up the Gilded Age unit, we played a farming simulation game today.
To wrap up the Gilded Age unit, we headed back out west to discuss the hardships of farmers. Students worked through p. 18 of their binders while using the information in their textbook on pages 422-424. We then discusses the efforts of farmers to improve their position, especially the goals of the Populist Party.
A friendly reminder that Core Assignment 1.2 is due on Monday and that the Defend/Criticize paper is due on Tuesday. Today's focus was on the social changes in cities during the Gilded Age. Students worked in groups to answer questions and then present answers to the larger class about their assigned topic. The class then wrote down a few of the important aspects of each topic on p. 16-17 of their binder. Core assignment 1.2 was also assigned today. It is due on Monday. A friendly reminder that the paper is due on Tuesday and the Gilded Age test is on Wednesday.
