The Cold War test was taken today.
Today was a review day for the test tomorrow. The review sheets can be found at the end of the Cold War binder pages.
To finish up the Cold War unit, we looked at the Counterculture movement of the late 1960s. We also listened to some 1960s music as a way of beginning our review process for Tuesday's test.
After briefly discussing the information that was studied yesterday, we looked at the legacy of the Vietnam War, especially as it concerned veterans. The 2nd Quarter project was also handed out today - a copy can be found below.
To follow up on our discussion about the Vietnam War, students investigated and organized information about the ground war, the air war, the Tet Offensive, and the policy of Vietnamization. Students also created arguments regarding the benefits and downsides of the war.
Students also watched portions of Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam. As we start to wind up the Cold War unit, students learned about the origins of the Vietnam War. See the video below for the notes from class. |
